My Safe Haven - a place of spandex & sweat

My name is Erika Lynn Schmidt and I am a born and raised Fallston girl.  Although, when you ask me what I call home I will answer the volleyball court. Home is an escape, a place to relax and find peace—I have found that on the court. For the five years I played competitively it was my home; now my home has become something different. I’m a coach at St. Paul's. I am on the sidelines coaching a new generation as they find their home, but I am still close enough that I find comfort in being there.

  2. Its so great that you love volleyball so much and have turned your passion for playing into a passion for coaching. Hopefully the kids you coach are able to feed off of your love for volleyball! It would be cool to continue to coach on the side throughout your life, keep the passion alive!

  3. I am glad to see another person has a sport in which she defines as a home! I know exactly the feeling. I saw previously you play tennis. You should try out for club tennis at UMBC!
